My Life in Zion

The life and views of a Latter-day Saint in the 21st Century…

Let Us Be Men

As Mother’s Day approaches I am filled with the thoughts of my own mother, and also my future wife (wherever out there she might be).

As I’ve pondered over the past few days a suitable gift for my own mother this Mother’s Day, I’ve reflected on all that she has done for me, but also all that I have seen my father (actually wonderful stepfather) do for her during their marriage. His example of continual sacrifices to do little things to make my mother happy is always inspiring to me. And I hope to be able to follow in his footsteps one day when I find a woman to take to the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity.

As I’ve pondered these things over the past few days, this message from Elder D. Todd Christofferson came to my mind, and I felt that I would it with you today also. As he has said,

We who hold the priesthood of God … must arise from the dust of self-indulgence and be men!

So let us be men. Let us give much. And let us live the good life.
